airplane sports car

A three-wheeled automobile self-made by a 47 years old grassroots inventor named Zhu Runqiang from Hubei, China. Weighing over a ton, the futuristic sports car measures 5 meters in length and contains a front driver seat and back passenger compartment. The car's frame is made from scrap metal pieces welded together and covered with a layer of fiberglass painted in bright yellow. The car has an airplane nose cone shaped bumper flanked by two large exposed front wheels. Its driver compartment resembles the cockpit of a fighter aircraft and contains among other things a computer and a 7" flat-panel display. Two turbines are used as decorative elements on the sides of the vehicle.

Zhu, a home electronic technician, named his invention the "airplane sports car" because of its shape. He built the car with components he collected mostly from used vehicles which cost him about 50,000 yuan ($8,204). Zhu claims the car can reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
