The scene that shows the sunken titanic in the bottom of the ocean was a real footage. This movie holds the record for most expensive movie made in the 20th Century with a budget of US$200 million, which is more expensive than the Titanic itself (US$150 million adjusted to inflation in 1997). At the same time it was the highest grossing film in box office history with a worldwide gross of US$1.8 billion until it was surpassed by Avatar (2009). Both films were directed by James Cameron.
