Stribog

Stribog, in the Slavic pantheon, is the god and spirit of the winds, sky and air; he is said to be the ancestor (grandfather) of the winds of the eight directions. He accompanies and protects Vesna, the goddess of spring and nature. He would bring her every spring on the wings of a soft breeze. Together, they would defeat Morana in the spring and bring the earth more warmth and better life.

Stribog is represented as an old man with a warrior's horn with which he would summon his grandchildren, who are the winds from all the directions. He is not the god which destroys, and since the Old Slavic peoples lived in valleys and swamps, he would help them move seeds and prosper the growth of food.

His animal is eagle, and his tree is the oak.
