Isabel Carrasco (1955-12.5.2014) was the head of the provincial government in Leon, Spain and a member of the governing People's Party (PP). She was assassinated in May 2014 on her way to a party meeting. She was shot dead by two women (mother and daughter) who are now under investigation. Police investigate the murder as an act of vengeance as one of the women (daughter)had been recently fired from the council.
